You'd be surprised. I was pretty depressed/suicidal before I joined the Marines, but boot camp made me into a responsible, disciplined man. Dropping out of boot camp half-way through though and you probably will be suicidal. It's not good to leave that place after the: "You're a worthless puke" part but before the "We're going to build you back up" part.
We had a guy in Basic (Army) who tried to kill himself by wrapping the cord of the floor buffer around his neck and tossing it out the window. The cord, being just a few years shy of being as old as God, broke and the buffer dropped 2 stories to shatter on the concrete below.
He was seized by the MPs, served 6 months for destruction of property, then made to re-cycle through Basic.
Yes, people are really searching for these. No, I don't know who they belong to, and I don't ever want to.
These often-disturbing glimpses into the psyche of our searches may completely and irreversibly change the way you look at small crowds, and even friends, neighbors, spouses, parents, kids, yourself, etc. If that happens, well... it happens.
The only edits I've made to the searches are possible casing changes - searches will sometimes appear in Title Case or all lower case depending on when I found them, and in some cases common misspellings have already been auto-corrected.
I sure as shit wouldn't expect marine boot camp to ALLEVIATE said tendencies.

Yes, just keep singing their hit "You Can't Bring Me Down" - you should be alright.
ReplyDeletedon't know about suicidal tendencies, but suicide will get you out of anything.
